IREC Structures designs and manufactures the airframe as well as many of the rockets internal components. We aim to provide a structurally sound airframe that ensures a smooth and stable flight.
Students gain valuable experience working with composite materials, such as carbon-fiber and fiberglass. From layups to sanding and finishing, students get experience working with materials that are widely used in the aerospace industry today.
Parts are designed completely from scratch in Fusion360, where students learn proper modeling techniques and tolerancing, which allows for our pieces to be easily manufactured in house. Students learn to turn their designs into reality using industry level machinery such as CNC/Manual Mills and Lathes.
