IREC Propulsion is responsible for making our rocket go up. Every year we design, manufacture, and test our very own solid APCP rocket motors.
Propulsion prides itself on its completely SRAD design. Everything about our rocket motors, from its graphite nozzle to the solid composite propellant, is fully researched, designed, and manufactured by our students in our lab.
Once we've developed our flight motor, students will get to test their work with test firing the motor that they have just built. These tests will collect pressure and thrust data and be used to work with other sections to ensure an optimal rocket design and a smooth flight at competition."
